Author Guidelines
The Academic International Journal of Veterinary Medicine (AIJVM) welcomes original, high-quality, and ethically conducted scholarly contributions in veterinary medicine, animal science, clinical veterinary practice, and related interdisciplinary fields.
Authors are strongly encouraged to carefully review the following guidelines before submitting manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. Manuscripts that do not comply with these requirements may be returned for technical revision prior to peer review.
1. Manuscript Categories
AIJVM accepts the following manuscript types:
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles
- Case Studies and Clinical Reports
- Technical Notes
2. General Formatting Requirements
- Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear British English
- Manuscript Length: Normally not exceeding 6,000 words, excluding references
- Title Length: Recommended maximum of 20–25 words
- Abstract Length: Maximum 300 words
- Keywords: Provide 3–5 keywords suitable for indexing and searchability
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12
- Line Spacing: 1.5 line spacing
- Reference Style: Vancouver Style
- Manuscripts should be submitted in editable Microsoft Word format
3. Manuscript Structure
Authors may adapt manuscript organization according to the nature of the study and research methodology. Standard manuscript sections generally include:
3.1 Title Page
- Full manuscript title
- Full names of all authors
- Institutional affiliations
- Corresponding author email address
- ORCID iD where available
3.2 Abstract
The abstract should clearly summarize:
- Background or Objective
- Materials and Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
3.3 Introduction
- Present the research problem or hypothesis
- Summarize relevant background literature and rationale
- Clearly state the objectives and significance of the study
3.4 Materials and Methods
- Describe study design, materials, procedures, and analytical methods in sufficient detail for reproducibility
- Provide details of statistical analyses, software, and experimental procedures
- Include ethical approval information where applicable
3.5 Results
- Present findings clearly and logically
- Include tables and figures near their first citation in the text
- Avoid interpretation of findings within this section
3.6 Discussion
- Interpret findings in relation to existing literature
- Discuss scientific significance, limitations, and practical implications
- Suggest directions for future research
3.7 Conclusion
Provide a concise summary of the principal findings and contributions of the study.
3.8 References
- References must follow Vancouver citation style
- All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list
- Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero
4. Tables and Figures
- Tables and figures should be editable whenever possible
- High-quality images are required for publication
- Figures must include appropriate captions, numbering, and legends
- Non-Microsoft Office figures should be submitted in high-resolution format (minimum 300 dpi)
5. Cover Letter
A separate cover letter addressed to the Editor-in-Chief should accompany all submissions.
The cover letter should:
- Briefly explain the scientific significance of the manuscript
- Confirm originality and exclusive submission
- Disclose conflicts of interest or special considerations
6. Ethical Requirements
All submissions must comply with international publication ethics standards and the journal’s ethical policies.
- Human or animal research must have appropriate ethical approval
- Research involving animals must comply with relevant welfare regulations
- Authors must disclose funding sources and conflicts of interest
- Authors are encouraged to provide data availability statements where applicable

7. Submission System
Manuscripts must be submitted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
Required Submission Files
- Anonymous manuscript prepared for peer review
- Manuscript including author details
- Cover letter or statement of originality
- Similarity screening reports may be requested during editorial evaluation
8. Peer Review Process
All manuscripts undergo Double-Blind Peer Review by at least two independent reviewers.
- Typical review timeline: approximately 6–8 weeks
- Authors may be invited to revise manuscripts based on reviewer comments
9. Copyright and Licensing
Copyright © 2023 Academic International Journal of Veterinary Medicine.
Authors retain copyright while granting the journal the right to publish and distribute the work.
All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) .
10. Article Processing Charges (APCs)
- Publication fee: USD 250 (or equivalent local currency)
- APCs are payable only after manuscript acceptance
- No submission or peer-review fees are charged
11. Language Editing Services
Authors who require language editing support may independently obtain professional editing services prior to manuscript submission.
Use of editing services does not guarantee manuscript acceptance and does not influence editorial decisions.
